About Me
My name is Tracy Corrigan and I've been designing web sites for more than 15 years. I absolutely love what I do.
In the beginning...
I started working with online systems in 1991 doing student records maintenance at Ohio University. In 1993, I was hired at the National Business Incubation Association (NBIA), an international trade association for business incubator managers and developers. Hired intially for PR and writing, my main priority quickly became learning what the 'hubbub' was with something called the Internet. Back then, you learned how to write your own HTML code and prayed your boss would buy you Photoshop 2.0 so you could figure out how to make a drop shadow behind a nifty little 'click here button.'
In the middle...
In October 1998, I was hired as Senior Web Designer at Ohio University. As project manager and lead web designer for the University, I designed or redesigned hundreds of internal web sites, and headed up two major redesign efforts of the University's main web site. The Ohio University web site receives over 20 million hits per month.
Since 2003...
I've been doing contract and freelance work for various clients. You'll see some of them in my portfolio section.
Other stuff.
I've given numerous workshops and presentations on web site construction, usability testing, and HTML coding. But my most favorite part of any job I've ever had was working with students, teaching them about effective web design. I've written columns on web site design and usability testing for the National Business Incubation Association and Stein Communications. I've also won numerous web awards.
My hobbies include golfing, competitive ballroom dancing, community theater, relationship, executive and life coaching, and the study of human behavior and body language. I'm also a history junkie.
